Toilet and ablution facility – Jamia Islamia Darul Ulom Madania

We all know that cleanliness is a prerequisite for prayer. AICS has identified Jamia Islamia Darul Ulom Madania in Sunamganj as a potential candidate for our support. Accordingly, AICS President, Mr. Mahbub Choudhury visited the madrasa and completed a detailed survey as per provision of AICS. He madrasa has 300 students, mostly residential. Many of them are extremely poor and 13 of them are orphans. One important characteristic on this madrasa is that both boys and girls are students. The madrasa has been able to expand its buildings slowly to barely accommodate its large number of students but still has to use its library room as prayer room and as Quranic class room. What is most important is that there is not enough toilet and ablution facility. Every time, students have stay in long line and by the time some students get their turn the time for prayer or meal is nearly over. The existing toilet facility is so poor that one cannot expect to be pure upon returning from there. AICS has provided financial support to construct the toilet and ablution facility. The facility is near completion. Because of adding a new pillar, the construction cost has increased. The madrasa is seeking additional fund. We expect the facility to be completed soon.
