Cows to Poor Widow, Kushtia, Bangladesh

Cows to Poor Widow, Kushtia, Bangladesh

There are families in Bangladesh who do not have earning members in the family nor do they have any asset. Widows with no adult male children are common in different parts of Bangladesh. Most of them are illiterate and are not skilled to earn income and support family. Such families can maintain bare minimum subsistence if they have one or two cows. Although women cannot go outside for work as they do not have any expertise or education for an income generating job, but they can feed cows and can have income from milk and calves. It seems a small contribution, but can make a huge difference in those people’s lives – the difference could so much that it could be from death to life. AICS expects to provide cows to such poor and destitute women. The expected cost of cow is approximately $500. S. M. Yakub will monitor this project. Mahbub Choudhury is also monitoring the project to other clients.
